Tyler Moore
Class of 2011

Tyler Moore played both football and baseball at Dunham. During his senior season, he was named District MVP, All-Metro, and 1^st Team All-State in baseball after batting .574 with 15 home runs. At the collegiate level, Tyler played baseball for LSU where he was the 2014 Tournament MVP and National Collegiate Player of the Week. On three occasions during his LSU career, Tyler delivered a dramatic, late-inning game-tying or game-winning hit. He was drafted in the sixth round by the NY Mets.

Brady Broussard
Class of 1994

During his high school athletic career, Brady Broussard was a four-year letterman in football, basketball, and baseball and was named Academic All-State in all three sports. In 1993, he was named All-Parish Quarterback after leading the team to a district championship and its first undefeated season in school history. In basketball, he was a member of the 1,000 Point Club and a three-time 1st Team All-District player. In baseball, Brady was named 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-State. Following his nomination as a finalist for The Advocate’s Athlete of the Year in the spring of his senior year, Brady enrolled at Louisiana Tech University where he played one season as a wide receiver in football.

Caroline McKey Younger
Class of 2011

Caroline McKey Younger was a three-sport athlete in high school, excelling at volleyball, track and field, and tennis. In track and field, Caroline was named All-District. She was a five-year letterman in tennis and was named All-District for five years; All-Metro for four years in a row; and All-State for her last three seasons. In 2011, Caroline claimed the doubles state championship title. After graduating from Dunham, she played volleyball for Millsaps College and was named All-Conference, All-Academic All-Conference, and All-South Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

David Patrick
Class of 1995

David Patrick was a member of the Australian National Team (basketball) before enrolling at The Chapel Trafton School in the fall of 1994. During his senior season as a Tiger, David was named District MVP, First Team All-Parish, and Louisiana Player of the Year. In addition, he was selected to play in the Louisiana State High School All-Star Game and continued to compete for Australia at the youth national level. Following high school, David signed with Syracuse University where he played as a freshman before transferring to the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette). David played professional basketball overseas for five years before working as a scout for the NBA and serving as an assistant coach at Nicholls State University, St. Mary’s College, LSU, and TCU. From 2018-2020, David was the head coach at UC Riverside before becoming the head coach at Sacramento State University. He now returns to Baton Rouge as associate head coach for men's basketball.

Jimmy Robbins
Class of 1987

Jimmy Robbins was a starter on the 1987 basketball and baseball state championship teams. In basketball, he was named All-District, All-Metro, and Final Four MVP after making the two free throws in the final round to secure the state championship title for the team. After graduating from The Chapel Schools/Trafton Academy, Jimmy continued his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas-Monticello where he played both basketball and baseball.

Ryan Darling
Class of 2008

One of the most decorated athletes in school history, Ryan Darling '08 earned eight individual state titles. In 2006, he was state champion in the 1600m (outdoor) and 3200m (outdoor) and also was the 2006 cross country state champion. The following year, he again earned three state championship titles for the 800m (outdoor), 1600m (outdoor), and 3200m (outdoor). Ryan finished his senior season in 2008 as the 1600m (indoor) and 1600m (outdoor) state champion.

Paul Jenkins
Class of 1994

Paul Jenkins '94 excelled at a high level as a multi-sport athlete. In football, he set school records for touchdowns and points scored. In his senior year, he led the entire state for score, helping the team complete the regular season undefeated at 10-0 and earning a scholarship to Louisiana Tech as a wide receiver. Paul also lettered four years in basketball, was a valuable starter on the Class 1A State Runner Up baseball team, and was a talented club soccer player.

Sean Cangelosi
Class of 1996

After a successful football career at Dunham, Sean Cangelosi continued playing at the collegiate level at Louisiana Tech, where he made one of the biggest catches in the university’s history when his 28-yard touchdown reception propelled the Bulldogs to a 29-28 win over 18th ranked Alabama in 1999. He ranks ninth in career receptions, tenth in career receiving yards, and fourth in career touchdown receptions.

Chris Barker Chaffin
Class of 1992

A remarkable athlete, Chris Barker Chaffin led the Lady Tigers basketball team in scoring for three seasons, from 1990-1992. She finished her high school career as the all-time leading scorer in Lady Tiger basketball history, a record she still holds today. After graduation, Chris continued her basketball career at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Reggie Griffith
Class of 1999

During his athletic career at Dunham, Reggie Griffith was a stand-out track and field star. In his senior year, he was voted outstanding performer in the boys division after setting Class 1A records in both the shot put and discus and was named a “Star of Stars” in track and field by the Baton Rouge Advocate after his performance in the state championship meet placed him among the top in the nation for elite shot put rankings.

John Howard
Class of 1987

During his high school career, John Howard was a multi-sport athlete who excelled in track and field, baseball, and football. As a two-time All-State and All-District baseball player, John helped lead his team to a state championship win. In football, he was named All-District in both his junior and senior seasons and helped the team advance to the state semifinals. After graduation, John continued his football career as a Ragin’ Cajun at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette).

Todd Kinchen
Class of 1987

Todd Kinchen was a football MVP, a leading scorer on the state championship basketball team, star shortstop and outfielder on the state championship baseball team, an all-district performer in track, and a regional finalist in tennis. After a successful football career at LSU, where he led the SEC in pass receptions, he was a wide receiver for seven seasons for Los Angeles Rams, the Denver Broncos, and the Atlanta Falcons.

Cary Koch
Class of 2005

A baseball, basketball, football, and track and field athlete, Cary Koch was named Offensive MVP of the 2004 All-State squad, MVP of the 2004 state championship game, and Metro-area Offensive Player of the Year in football. He played at the collegiate level at Tulane and the University of Virginia before playing professionally in the Canadian Football League for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and the Edmonton Eskimos.
 

Mitch McIlwain
Class of 1994

As All-District offensive and defensive football player, Mitch McIlwain was defensive MVP of the undefeated district championship football team and was named to the All-State and All-District teams in baseball, helping lead the Tigers to a state runner-up finish. He continued his baseball career at Louisiana Tech, where he was a multi-year letterman. Mitch has served as a distinguished educator and coach at Dunham since 1999.

Leigh Myers
Class of 2008

Leigh Myers earned All-Metro, All-District, and All-State honors in girls basketball and volleyball. During her senior year, she was named to the All-State girls basketball and volleyball teams, qualified for the state track and field meet in multiple events, was a state semifinalist in tennis, and was a finalist for the Baton Rouge Area Female Athlete of the Year. Leigh earned a Division I volleyball scholarship to Radford University in Virginia, where she is still ranked in the top 10 for all-time assists.

Lauren Haynes Parks
Class of 2002

A basketball, track, and volleyball MVP, Lauren Haynes Parks served as team captain in basketball and volleyball, made All-District in both sports, and was named to the All-State team in track. In 2002, she received the Dunham Female Athlete of the Year Award, the Our Lady of the Lake Outstanding Athlete Award, and the United States Army Award for Outstanding Female Athlete. Lauren still holds the school record for single game scoring in basketball.

Joey Thibodeaux

Joey Thibodeaux has served as head football coach, athletic director, baseball coach, girls golf coach, and math teacher during his 34 years at Dunham. As football coach, he compiled a 155-86 record, including a 2004 Class 1A state championship title. In baseball, he collected more than 400 career victories, including a 1987 Class 2A state championship title and a 1994 runner-up finish.

Sarah McKey Waggoner
Class of 2003

Sarah McKey lettered in tennis all four years in high school and ranked in the top 10 in Louisiana in USTA competition. An LSHAA state runner-up her junior year, Sarah was undefeated in individual play her senior year, finishing as the 2003 state champion and leading the ladies team to a state championship win. Sarah earned a tennis scholarship to Samford University, where her team won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship and competed in the NCAA National Tournament in her freshman and junior years.
