2024 Commencment Awards

Congratulations to the following 2024 graduates who were recognized for their outstanding achievements during commencement exercises on May 18.

Samay Mirpuri

Samay Mirpuri completed 16 Advanced Placement courses and 10 honors courses, earning an extraordinary 4.5 cumulative GPA. As a National Honor Society member, he has gained recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction and was named a National Merit Scholar. Despite his demanding academic workload, Samay was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the basketball and track teams, co-captain of the cross country team, and co-founder of the debate team. In his spare time, he earned a private pilot's license through the Aviation Academy of Louisiana and interned at a local law firm. Samay received scholarship offers of approximately 7.2 million dollars. He will attend Harvard University in the fall and pursue a double degree in pre-law psychology and political science. His future plans are to practice law and work in the government with a focus on policy-making.

Charlie Dantin

Charlie Dantin completed seven Advanced Placement classes and 17 honors classes, finishing his high school career with a 4.46 cumulative GPA. Charlie is an AP Scholar with Honors and a member of the National Honor Society and the Institute of Leadership. He has performed with the Dunham School Honors Choir for the Louisiana Music Educators Association and the American Choral Directors Association. He served as Beta Club president, Community Prefect, and member of Dunham Praise Band. He has also captivated audiences through his many leading roles in Dunham theatre productions, including starring role of Jack Kelly in this year's production of Newsies. Charlie has received scholarship offers totaling $460,000. He will attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas to pursue a degree in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate.

The Artes Domini Gloriae Award (Arts for the Glory of God) honors the senior who possesses superior artistry and has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the arts while maintaining strength of character and integrity.

Katie Harris

The Crimson and Silver Award, the highest honor possible, is given to the senior who has exemplified the love of Christ with both peers and faculty and whose life has clearly reflected a desire to honor God and acknowledge Him in all of his or her ways.

Charlie Dantin

The Hall of Fame Award is presented to the senior who has brought the greatest positive community recognition to the school during the course of his or her high school athletic career.

Claire McIlwain

Established in memory of Katharine Dunham, this award recognizes the senior whose conduct and character best exemplify the school’s Honor Code by demonstrating a strong sense of personal honor and integrity in his or her daily life.

Mason Elliot

The Servant’s Heart Award honors the senior whose high school career has displayed an attitude of serving others by performing selfless acts of willing and cheerful service at school, at church, and in the greater community.
