Congratulations to our favorite Tiger-turned-Vanderbilt Commodore Jordan Wright ’19 who was named the 2022 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Voted on by the SEC coaches, this award honors a starting player on one SEC team for his academic and athletic achievement. All honorees mush have at least a 3.2 GPA. He is the third Commodore player to earn this honor since the award began in 2004.
Jordan, who maintains a 3.53 grade point average as a human and organizational development major, is also a candidate for College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-America and took home CoSIDA Academic All-District distinction last month.
On the court, Jordan leads the team with six double-doubles, including a 14-point, 11-rebound game against Ole Miss in the regular season finale. For the season, he is second on the team with 11.7 points per game to go with a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game.
