Lower School Art

Lower School Art offers students an opportunity to explore a variety of materials and investigate their creative ideas through different forms of art making. Students learn and develop basic art skills that build on each other throughout the year. They will be able to identify the elements and will be introduced to the principles of art. Students will work with materials such as clay, acrylics, watercolors, pencils, charcoal, and pastels. Individual and collaborative work will be part of the curriculum and allow students to develop skills needed to work together in a group. Students will also learn about different art styles, famous artists, and art movements. Overall, the students will have an opportunity to express their creativity while learning and developing important art skills.
